Prepare clear, readable documents before opening the form. Your name, passport number and travel details should match across the application.

Plan ahead

Processing time and application status

Uganda’s Washington embassy describes usual review in two to three working days and advises applying at least five working days before travel. Additional checks or document requests can take longer. This is planning guidance, not a guaranteed turnaround.

Check your passport and documents before starting, monitor email after submission and allow time to answer further requests. An intended arrival date is not an approval deadline.

The approval authorisation's travel window and the permitted stay are different. Read the document issued for your case rather than calculating an expiry from the date you applied.
